Frequently Asked Questions
How do stem cells work?
How are the stem cells collected?
ICW provides certified human mesenchymal stem cells derived from Wharton Jelly (umbilical cord tissue) and placenta from live, healthy births.
Procedure: After childbirth, the umbilical cord is clamped and cut. The umbilical cord tissue (Wharton's jelly) or blood is collected. MSCs are isolated from the cord tissue or blood.
Are there ethical issues involving these types of stem cell therapy?
Umbilical cord stem cell therapy has little ethical concern as does embryonic stem cell therapy. Umbilical cord stem cells are collected after a successful live birth with the mother and child wellness paramount. To ensure the safety and efficacy of these treatments it is important to have transparent practices and strict regulatory oversight to confirm that the use of umbilical cord stem cells is both responsible and beneficial.
Are there any negative side effects?
How does Infinity Cellular Wellness ensure the quality of their stem cells?

Why can’t I get the same stem cells treatment in the USA?
Current stem cell treatments in the United States are being performed under FDA approved clinical trials, and although the data is very encouraging, final FDA approval for many of these treatments is still years away. CPI is regulated by national regulatory agencies, COFEPRIS or the Federal Committee for Protection from Sanitary Risks (Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios) is the equivalent of the FDA in Mexico. CPI is approved by COFEPRIS to perform cell therapy that in many regions such as the United States is years away from being a treatment option.
What is the success rate for stem cell therapy?
The success rate of stem cell therapy varies widely depending on several factors, including the type of stem cell therapy, the condition being treated, the patient's health, and the quality of the medical facility providing the treatment. Here are some key points regarding the success rates of various stem cell therapies:
- Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) Therapy - Conditions Treated: Osteoarthritis, spinal cord injuries, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory conditions.
Success Rate:
MSC therapy for osteoarthritis shows improvement in pain and function in a significant percentage of patients, with studies reporting success rates ranging from 60% to 80% for symptom improvement. - For spinal cord injuries, the success rate is lower and more variable. Some patients experience significant improvements, while others may see minimal to no benefit.
- Autoimmune diseases and inflammatory conditions have shown promising results in early trials, but long-term success rates are still under investigation.
How long with it take to see results?
Each patient is unique and there is no guarantee how soon positive results will be seen or how long before they are observed. Some patients have reported during the course of their treatment, while others have reported results as long as 6 months.
Do I need more than one treatment?
While some patients may achieve satisfactory results with a single MSC treatment, others might require multiple treatments to maintain or enhance therapeutic benefits. The decision on the number of treatments should be made in consultation with your healthcare provider, based on the specific condition being treated, your response to the initial treatment, and ongoing assessment of your health and progress.
Regular follow-ups and assessments will help determine the need for additional treatments, ensuring that the approach is tailored to your individual needs and maximizes the potential benefits of MSC therapy.
Is it covered by insurance?
Insurance does not currently cover regenerative medicine procedures for the most part. There are certain instances in surgery where there are codes for the various procedures. But by and large, the procedures are considered a fee for service.
How much does it cost?
The cost of stem cells vary by procedure. Cost depends on the recommended treatment protocol and a quote will be provided in writing. If you would like an estimate please contact us.
